90˚ phase retarders are used to convert linear polarization to circular polarization. Circular polarization means equal amount of s-pol and p-pol for any beam orientation. With90˚ phase retarders used in cutting, material can be removed uniformly regardless of cutting directions.

CO₂ Laser Phase Retarder / TFP

Eternal Optics manufactures precision CO₂ Laser Phase Retarders and Thin Film Polarizers (TFP) designed for advanced 10.6 μm CO₂ laser systems requiring accurate polarization control, beam separation, and optical performance optimization.

Our CO₂ Laser Phase Retarders are engineered to modify the polarization state of infrared laser beams by introducing a controlled phase difference between orthogonal polarization components. Available as quarter-wave plates and half-wave plates, these optics enable polarization conversion, rotation, and stabilization for demanding CO₂ laser applications.

Thin Film Polarizers (TFP) for CO₂ lasers utilize advanced multilayer coating technology to provide high polarization selectivity at the 10.6µm wavelength. They are commonly used for separating s- and p-polarized beams, controlling laser output polarization, and optimizing beam transmission efficiency in high-power laser systems.
